The Unseen Realm 2.0 | Cosmic Vocabulary II: God’s Heavenly Court and the Watchers

Season 3, Episode 5

In this episode, Michael and Zach continue their “Cosmic Vocabulary” mini-series by moving from individual spiritual beings to the structure of the unseen realm. They explore biblical terms such as “sons of God,” “host of heaven,” “holy ones,” and elohim, showing how Scripture uses several overlapping categories for members of God’s heavenly court. The discussion also examines “the satan” as a title in Job, the spiritual “princes” of Daniel 10, Paul’s language of rulers and authorities, and the debated identity of the twenty-four elders in Revelation. From there, the episode turns to one of the most controversial categories in the series: the Watchers. Michael and Zach distinguish the three biblical references in Daniel from the much larger Watcher tradition found in 1 Enoch, Jubilees, and the Dead Sea Scrolls, explaining what these ancient texts can—and cannot—tell us about Genesis 6, fallen angels, and later Jewish interpretation. Throughout the episode, they carefully separate canonical teaching from historical background and speculation, while showing why this vocabulary matters for understanding the Bible’s supernatural worldview.
