In this episode, Michael and Zach continue their series on conversational apologetics by exploring two more tools from Gregory Koukl’s Tactics: Sibling Rivalry and Taking the Roof Off. Both tactics help expose weaknesses in a worldview, but they do so in different ways. Sibling Rivalry highlights tensions between beliefs a person holds at the same time, while Taking the Roof Off follows an idea to its logical conclusion and asks whether that worldview can actually support the values its adherents want to preserve. Through examples involving morality, human dignity, abortion, justice, evolution, and love, Michael and Zach show how gracious questions can reveal inconsistencies without turning the conversation into a confrontation. The episode also connects these tactics to Romans 1–2, arguing that people often live according to moral truths their stated worldview cannot fully explain. The goal is not to embarrass or trap people, but to help them think more carefully and to point beyond unstable ideas toward the truth of Christ.
